Preparation
The preparation for this film was extensive. Outside of having a crew of twenty or more people, there was an insane amount of equipment. Most of it was provided as in-kind donations through the university's film program, and the rest was outsourced to bring the Director's vision to life. The items used was an Atomos Monitor, Sigma 18-35mm lens, Zeiss 50mm lens, a Ronin S rig, a drone, and a professional car mount for the driving scenes. The Director, Cinematographer, and camera assistants met every week to prep for the shots using a Sony A7 RII. Another interesting surprise was the Producer's were able to procure a real cop car through out the duration of the 1st day. And the Director provided his own personal vehicle for the characters driving scenes. All in all, it was a collaborative team effort in pulling this project off.
Behind the Scenes
The talent on this production exceeded a lot of expectations, for a Student Short Film. Thomas Hobson, part of the Screen Actor's Guild, portrays Dr. Terrence Barnett. He also won in the category of Best Actor in the Musical ''Ain't Misbehavin'' at the 2019 Ovation Awards. Secondary lead Lesley Powell portrays his misunderstood patient Alfred Creed, and can also be spotted in television show's like Snowfall or Marvel film's such as Infinity War. In total the Production of this film took two days to shoot, where as the rest of it took at least two or more months to piece together in post production. The Director pulled together his personal, familial, and local business to fund and complete this project from start to finish.
